The following is a hypothetical scenario.  I do not believe this hypothetical scenario is the goal of most or maybe any ex members, but I want to give a more extreme example to demonstrate a point.  I certainly do not desire the extreme example I give.

Let's say legal actions were taken against the University Bible Fellowship headquarters in Chicago and all the University Bible Fellowship buildings were seized by the "governments" of all the countries that have UBF buildings in them.  Let's say all the top officials in University Bible Fellowship in every country were also arrested, everyone with an official ranked position on the books of the legally recognized organization known as University Bible Fellowship but the sheep and shepherds who do not have a officially listed position were not arrested.  Some of the stronger believers in the Shepherding System and or what some people have called the UBF KOPAHN (Kingdom of Priests and Holy Nation Doctrine) who still remain would feel obligated to continue to use these principles and continue doing the Shepherding System because the UBF belief system would still exist in their minds.  On a side note this is why ex members should not just leave discussing UBF alone and just not show up and not criticize it if it is not for them since they need to deal with the beliefs that were implanted in their minds through discussing them in order to achieve improvement in the quality of their lives.

Now let's look at another hypothetical scenario that is less extreme

UBF has a presbyterian origin here is another Presbyterian group.  I believe Presbyterianism is wicked at it's very origin tracing back to John Calvin tracing back to so called Roman Catholicism, the same Roman Catholicism John MacArthur condemns.

Let’s say you have 2 sheep sure they are both abused by the Shepherd but the one who wins greater favor from the Shepherd gets to take on the role of the abuser over the sheep that loses the competition.  Being the abuser can be profitable even if you have to suffer through abuse to get there.

Many people who obeyed Samuel Lee are now in the top of the hierarchy because he favored those who obey him.  Sarah Barry has inherited the money and power of Samuel Lee more than those who disobeyed him and were ousted, she was right if I just obey Samuel Lee things will work out in the end.

There is a difference between a claim being true and stating that if someone does not believe a claim is true upon the moment of death they will go to Hell after they die.  Below is a list of claims that are not equivalent to one another however people often confuse the types of claims.  I give many examples below.  There are also different definitions of the word believe.  Changing around the definition of the word believe can be used to make people afraid of going to Hell for accessing the wrong information and changing what claims they believe.  Consider the adjectives, verbs, prepositions, articles and any other qualifying words and phrases next to the word believe when you read verses in the Bible also consider the tense the word believe is conjugated into and the fact that the Bible is translated from another language if and when you read it in English so as not to fall for these kinds of traps.

I am absolutely not making a definitive claim that UBF was a government founded experiment, but I am saying it fits the pattern and I am curious about the possibility however if I have seen no records or evidence tracing UBF to a CIA other than a pattern of behavior at the present time.  I do not say "the CIA", but "a CIA" because there is a Korean CIA and also an American CIA, etc.  I do not believe that everything that happens is a secret covert government operation, Samuel Lee could have simply done this on his own apart from any Korean or American government operation.  I do not know exactly how to even start an investigation other then perhaps filing a freedom of information act request on UBF which I have never done for anything to my recollection before and by asking other people if they heard anything about Samuel Lee having ties to the government or special elites early on or heard of any possible evidence.

If my memory is correct the Pastor made a very bad decision that nearly resulted in the group losing it's club status on campus although I thought they might be going to be banned from campus at the time.  I was not attending group meetings at this time but heard about it from a third party.  I wrote this article on my opinion of banning UBF from campuses at that time.  I am tempted to say my views on marriage by faith were naive then based on my writing but I also wrote an article refuting it and I think I simply did not put as much nuance as I should have and should have included the word "fraud," in describing marriage by faith.  At the time I remember telling someone they should openly put on their recruitment literature and websites, "we do arranged marriages and do not allow dating if you join our group," and then I would be OK with what they were doing provided they give that and certain other information up front.  I do not know what part 2 was going to be.

You primarily only join UBF by an endorsement from a recruiter.  Once you join you are taught an outer layer of teachings with symbols.  You are misled in the beginning as to the meaning of the symbols but may eventually learn their real meaning as you progress.  The ultimate meaning of the symbols is to use every part of the Bible to teach a hierarchical structure of obedience  but symbols are initially misrepresented as a way to help people grow in love for God by learning to obey God's commands by faith.
